The Frieth Hilly 5 & 10km Run

It’s race week and we are very excited to be welcoming you to the 12th edition of the Frieth Hilly. It looks like the weather Gods are on our side too…

Postal entries are now closed but you can still enter online here until 2200 on Friday. There will be the option to enter on the day, just get there for before 0900 to guarantee a place!

We are pleased to say that we have kept our 2018 prices.

As in previous years, Barry Cornelius plans to take photographs of the Frieth Hilly 10K for publication on his website for possible use by the press. You will be able to download his photos free of charge. If you (or your parent/carer if you are under 18) do not wish your image to appear as a significant part of any photograph that he publishes on the web or provides to the press, you should put a large thick red cross across your race number.
Red markers will be provided at the Race HQ for this purpose.”

2018 Results and Photos

2018 Results

Our good friend of the race Barry Cornelius from Oxon Races took about 900 photos of the 10K, some at about 0.5K and the rest at about 6K. The photos are available from:

The photos are free to download. However, if a photo is put somewhere public
(including social media), I would like the credit “Photo by Barry Cornelius”.

We’ve also included our 2016, 2017 & 2018 Results

The 10k is open to runners age 15+ and the 5k is open to age 11+. The 10k lives up to its name ‘Hilly’ and is an ideal route for those who may have already taken part in a few 10k races and are now ready for the challenge of a few hills too!

Just remember what goes up must come down!

The 5k is certainly a flatter route, and was enjoyed by many school and junior club runners last year. It is an ideal first 5k race, or for those that are not quite brave enough to take on the challenge of the 10k hills just yet… maybe next year?

Whichever course you choose to take, please bring along your friends and family to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy a great morning out!

All profits from the run go directly to the PTA Frieth CEC School This year all profits will be allocated to upgrading IT equipment. Last year we raised over £8,500 and we have ambitions to improve on that again.

The initial feedback from runners, spectators and volunteers and  has been overwhelmingly positive. It is always our intention to put on the best race we possibly can and if there is anything you think we can do to improve upon that then we would love to hear from you –

Looking for a spot of lunch post race, then look no further. We are delighted to be supported by two local pubs. The Yew Tree Frieth – Best Sunday Roast Finalist 2019 & Grouse & Ale – Trip Advisor Certificate of Excellence 2013-2019. Book early to avoid disappointment!
