On the Day

Please find all the Race Day  information you will need. Any questions please drop us a line.

8.30am – 9.00am – On the day registration

Head to the registration tables in the village hall with your pre-completed registration form. Entry fee is £20 for 10k and £15 for 5k, payable by cheque or cash (sorry no cards).  Last year, we came really close to hitting our numbers of runners which are allowed to run, so it would be great if you could register before the day.  If not, then it would really help us out if you could come between these times.  Runners who pre-registered too late to receive their number through the post can collect it here.

9.40am – Warm up – it’s always fun!

9.50am – Runner’s Briefing followed by Runner’s Blessing by our local Reverend

10am – Race Starts !

Both races will start on the road outside the school, facing up the hill.  We will clearly identify the start of the 10k and  5k.  It helps the race run smoothly if the faster runners start at the front and fun-runners behind them.

Around 11.30am – Prize Giving

There are prizes for all category winners and runners up, so please stick around for the prize giving if you can.

Extra Information

Parking

All cars – spectators and runners – need to park in the designated field at the top of the village. Location can be found in our ‘On the Day’ section We are making some changes to our parking arrangements, so please check back here nearer the time.

Bag Storage

Bags can be left in the school hall. Please don’t leave any valuables in your bags as they are left at your own risk.

Runners Retreat

Our good friends from Runners Retreat will have a stand at Race HQ to cover those last minute necessities; or hell why not just buy a new pair of trainers and break them in at the Hilly; come on who hasn’t done that!?

Toilets

There are toilets in the school building and portaloos on the playing field behind.

First Aid

We are grateful for Suzanne Strictley and her team at First Aid Matters who will not only be on hand within the event grounds, but also sited on the course in a Landrover should there be any emergency, on or off-road.  Our medics typically spend a pleasant morning eating bacon sandwiches, but if you do require medical assistance during the race, simply tell one of our many marshals and you’ll get the help you need.

Refreshments

Delicious cakes and biscuits home-made by parents at the school are on sale with teas and coffees in the village hall. Hot bacon and sausage sandwiches are also available at the BBQ stall. If there were Michelin stars given out for cakes, we are pretty confident we would have a handful!
